About Mercia Grant
With a professional background in payroll with the Metropolitan District Commission in Boston, Mercia Grant currently resides in Baldwinsville, New York. A major current focus for Mercia Grant is on charitable activities that assist those in need. She supports a wide range of nonprofits, including the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, the St. Joseph's Indian School, and Priests of the Sacred Heart.
Having long held membership in the American Legion, Ms. Grant is also a contributor to Paralyzed Veterans of America. She additionally devotes time and energy in awareness raising and research efforts focused on Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood (SUDC). The impetus for these efforts stem from her granddaughter Lily Mercia Sateriale, who passed away before reaching the age of two.
In memory of a cherished family member, Ms. Grant was involved in 2012 in organizing Lily's Walk for Answers, and she also helped arrange the 2018 event Lily's Irish Party. These fundraisers benefitted Boston Children's Hospital’s Robert's Program and the SUDC Foundation. Mercia Grant is also involved with the fraternal Christian philanthropic group Ancient Order of Hibernians.
